IMS was founded in the year 2000 by Adrian Smith with over 35 years experience in Lift trucks. He started his career in the industry in1977,completed (the first of its kind) a five year RTITB apprentice scheme set up with his then employer Harvey Forklifts.

Attending South Oxford Technical College at Henley on Thames and South Bristol Technical College. He achieved nine city and Guilds certificates, and went on to study Management,Administration and Law in motor vehicles. After finishing his apprenticeship in the early 1980's Adrian went on to work for many major lift truck companies as an Engineer, before deciding to set up the now well known IMS company. Still continuing with strong believes in training, has also put his own staff through Lift truck apprenticeships. He has carried on training himself over the years and now passes his experiences on, both in Lift truck and LGV Driver CPC Training as an RTITB registered Instructor also as a  Fully Qualified Lift Truck Engineer.

IMS carries out  Thorough examinination inspections of lift trucks and driver training on customer premises for both the public and private secture. Not just for their own customers but also other lift truck manufactures and suppliers who also leave IMS to maintain, look after, driver train  for their customers as well.

With close business links with the aircraft industry, government run departments as well as the transport and warehouse industry.
