IMS Training and Development/drivercpcbristol.com is accredited by the RTITB and is also a Master Driver CPC Consortium Member and can deliver your training needs to the required standard as laid down by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).

Driver CPC came in to affect for Buses & Coaches in September 2008 and law for LGV in September 2009.  It states that drivers must complete a mininium of 35 hours of periodic training within a 5 year period.  You can choose how you complete this training; either all at once (35 hours) or one day per year starting September 2008 for PSV and September 2009 for LGV.

It will be advisable for companies, owner drivers, and agency drivers to book their employees or themselves on a course as soon as possible - the longer this is left the less chance you will have in completing 35 hours by September 9th 2013 for PSV and September 9th 2014 for LGV, which would mean you will loose your entitlement to drive.

All new drivers will need to pass a new initial qualification to gain their vocational driving licence and qualify for their Driver CPC. For a new driver, the requirement is to undertake a minimum of 35 hours periodic training, to retain their Driver CPC this will start once they have passed the initial qualification.

Driver CPC has been introduced across the EU to maintain high driving standards and improve road safety. Any driver of lorries of 3.5 tonnes and upwards, and minibuses with 9 seats or more must obtain a Driver CPC.
